vision

Vision

I have been going through a period of being fired up by a need for moving forward in various areas that touch on my life. I know when I feel passionate about something because I can’t sleep and I have to get up in the middle of the night and write things down to alleviate the physical aspects of it that get my head whirring.  I have also learnt to fear this ‘fire in the soul’ phenomena as it usually gets me to speak out in ways that draw attention to myself which I find very hard to deal with.  I am afraid that passion makes me irrational.  T.D.Jakes wrote,  ‘nothing that you have been through will ever go to waste.  Don’t die in your nest’.  Is that a comfort?

I think the core of it is about vision (or lack of it).

I have been reading through some notes I made from a 2 day leadership workshop at church. It wasn’t about being a church leader – it was about what good leadership is.  They came from some videos and I can’t attribute them because I didn’t write down who they all were.

Make vision stick

Cast it strategically. What is our vision?  Mist in the pulpit, fog in the pew.

Celebrate it systematically. Inspiration.

Live it continuously. Living out the vision provides credibility.  It makes you worth following… she will do it anyway.  It is part of who they are ….

CAST it. Be strategic about when you cast it.  Make it unmistakeably clear and compelling.

Define the problem.

What problem are we here to solve?

If we don’t do what we do something won’t get done

What is the problem God has called us to solve?

Your vision is the solution to a problem on the way to capture their hearts.

Present them with a reason.

Why must we do it?

Why must we do it now?

It must GRIP you

My two boys gave me the card on my 45th birthday.
