The Bible is an encouragement to discover wisdom LCF lesson 2
We need to read the Bible literately, not literally. The Bible is not a perfect, sanitised, well-behaved document. It is an encouragement to discover wisdom for ourselves.
Wisdom is a tree of life to those who lay hold of it, but what does wisdom look like in the here and now?
The Bible refuses to deal with black and white – just shades of grey. Jesus made the tactic of being ambiguous into an art form. There are 40 distinct parables and not one has an obvious meaning. They are timeless because they are not prescriptive.
Our actions constitute a life of wisdom and faith.
