Holdspace – a story of enterprise

Holdspace is a follow on from the below post part two

I want to wax lyrical about Amanda from Head and Hands. She tells her story on her website, but I want to tell you how I find her.

Amanda is part of Peabody Community Development Team Enterprise Pilot programme whereby we allow a small social enterprise to run a centre in return for taking a percentage of the rental income.

It’s so lovely to work with someone who has vision; is passionate about what she does and is keen to get all the details right.

The downside is she contacts me at all hours of the day and night. The plus side is she is already (and the only person since I have worked at Peabody) who is also thinking about her exit strategy.  This is significant.  She is truly appreciative of the opportunity, but understands that for growth for herself, the community and the organisation, it is not about hanging in so long that what was once a great piece of work that genuinely offers a service and empowers others becomes all about self / a clique.

The centre is now gleaming in its whiteness everywhere and officially open for wellbeing sessions.
