why people hate bloggers & what adult children want to know from parents

I am looking at my blogging niche. I am looking at how I can take my writing up a notch, so I spent a few hours looking at articles on ‘why I hate bloggers’.

OMG! I chop my hands off.  Especially after this article

and it was written in 2009! Why am I always a decade later than everyone else in my development?!!!

Quote from above article

You provided no value to anyone outside of your immediate family. You weren’t writing a blog. You were writing your Christmas letter to Aunt Millie. Not even your family is interested in that letter. That’s why it’s crumpled up the kitchen drawer right now.

It made me laugh in a horrified at the recognition sort of way. I also navel gaze which apparently is another favourite blogging hate. I am not saying the process so far has not had its value, especially to me, and some of my letters have interesting bits in them – it’s just I need to move on.

I am not sure I am expert enough in anything to have a truly defined niche that could be my answer to blogging success.

What am I good at? Sharing my perspective?

What do adult children still look to their parents for?

Not too bad at any of that other than I do have to constantly remind myself to listen rather than talk. What do adult children want to know from their parents?

mmm! Probably covered quite a bit of that in the blog so far …!
