A school trip with a difference

This card brings back some lovely memories. It was linked to an A-level retreat I did with my VIth form students to help them revise for their A-level. I think the majority were from St Albans Girls School, but some from Bushey Meads School.

You can see my husband, children and our two dogs and another History teacher colleague from St Albans Girls School.

I did two similar retreats and wrote about the first one in The Times Educational Supplement.

Look at the place! It was rented by the father of a university friend, had no electricity, a ropey shower and an aga and was miles from anywhere. They were squashed together everywhere. I certainly wasn’t doing any risk assessments when I took them. They all mucked in with cooking.

Inside the card it says
‘Thank you for an intellectually (and socially) stimulating week-end!’

Lindsey, Hilary, Jo, Jane, Anna, Rosalind, Carol, Elizabeth, Natasha, Rosie, Moira & Zinnke. I can’t visualise them any more. I wonder what they have done with their lives?
